Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if only one remembers to turn on the light. (Dumbledore)
I'm a big fan of quotes. I write them down in my Moleskine planner and then transcribe them to my Moleskine notebook at the end of the year. You know, to make a review of all the wisdom that I absorbed in the past year. :-) Quotes inspire me on a daily basis - by that I mean quotes from films, songs, or just quotes from random people that I find on the internet.
Here are some of my favourites.
My ultimate all-time favourite:
There is nothing impossible to him who will try.
(Alexander the Great)
- You can tell a lot about a person by the way he handles four things: a rainy day, the elderly, lost luggage and tangled Christmas lights. (M. Angelou)
- In 20 years you will be more disappointed by what you didn't do than by what you did. (Mark Twain)
- Work expands to fill the time available for its completion. (This quote really gets me through exam period ;-)
- A recent survey stated that the average person's greatest fear is having to give a speech in public. Somehow, this ranked even higher than death, which was third on the list. So, you're telling me that at a funeral, most people would rather be the guy in the coffin than have to stand up and give an eulogy. (Seinfeld - this quote really gets me through speeches in public :-)
- Laugh a lot and when you get older, all your wrinkles will be in the right places. (Unknown)
- Stay hungry, stay foolish. (S. Jobs)
- Dorknob: Sorry, you're much too big. Simply impassible.
Alice (in Wonderland): You mean impossible?
Dorknob: No, impassible. Nothing is impossible.
